When to plant outside:
Recommended. Sow in spring after average last day of frost. In very hot summer regions, plant in fall for winter bloom.
When to start inside:
Seedlings do not transplant well; directly seed into final location outside.
Special Germination Instructions:
Nasturtium seed requires darkness to germinate. Therefore, plant at recommended depth of 1/2". Also, soaking seeds in water for 24 hours before sowing will soften the fairly hard seed coat. Do not plant too early in spring. If temperatures are still cool (less than 70 degrees) during the day, seeds may not sprout.
